Salah (Prayer), 2018
Salah is a work that focuses on illustrating the flow that transpires during prayer. “Daily prayer referred to as Salah in Arabic, is an act of worship specific to Islam both in its form and spirit.” It's a performance in front of Allah that Muslims have been taught at a young age to perfect by the age of puberty. Salah is a flow of movements, including standing, bowing and prostration, as natural as the blood flowing through your veins. This work attempts to showcase that this act of submission is not only a form of movements that consists of daily exercise for the body, but it is also for the spirit and mind.
